i've always had a thing for a les paul deluxe goldtop with mini humbucker. that and either an esquire or the carbonita tele.

My all-time favourites - all well out of my reach.

Framus Strato Deluxe:

CBS era Jag prototype:

Vox Starstream:

Yamaha SG-3 - I'm working on a faithful replica of this. The owner of this one took it apart and drew super-accurate tracings of the whole thing for me.

And at the risk of coming across like a self-satisfied knobhead, this one is pretty much my dream guitar:

Woah, I've never seen that either. Don't know if i like the body... but i like how the neck pickup is straight, that's cool.

I found this prototype jazzmaster, not as interesting though:

and this random lucite Duo Sonic:

I have covers drawn up and ready to 3D print at Shapeways (here) but I keep putting it off. Somedays I feel like you about it, some days I can't wait for the challenge... The covers will fit over Jag pickups with the claws hidden inside.

I like how the bridge pickup is slanted, because Jags normally have 2 straight pickups.

I've seen that Jag before and I think the slanted pickup is retarded. Visually it doesn't flow like on a strat and musically the way Fender slants pickups never made sense to me. I don't want a treble pickup with even higher trebles and more bass, the other way around always made more sense.

I do like the top binding it looks classy. Somebody on FDP ages ago did a top bound Jazzmaster and it was classy looking.

Since I have completed my first guitar build, I am honestly not sure what I consider my dream guitars anymore.

I will start with the two I already own:

Daphne Blue Baja Telecaster:
Image

AVRI Jaguar:
Image

vintage Cream/Gold Jazzmaster (minus the gold hardware)
Image

Squier Super-Sonic (Blue Sparkle or White) - I will probably build my own soon.
Image
Image

Competition Mustang (stripes going all the way around) - Might build this one too
Image

Coronado II (haven't played one, but still want.)
Image

Fender XII
Image

That will do for now. :)
J Mascis Jazzmaster | AVRI Jaguar | Tuxedo-stang |Fender Toronado GT |
Squier FSR Sparkle Jaguar | Squier CV Mustang |1971 Fender Bronco| Baja Telecaster |

no, standard colours (cherry, sunburst) are cheaper than custom ones.

Don't think I'll ever buy any of them though... quite content with my 61 jazzy and Japanese Jag.

Sparkly Fender bass of any sort.

LE Black Country Gent available only at Ed Roman's, though in typical Ed Roman fashion the floating bridge has apparently floated downstream.

and, a Gretsch Country Gentleman

There is really dozens of guitars i'd love to own, but i suppose these 3 are guitars i'd like to own the most?

on a further note, that Rickenbacker 481 looks rad, i wonder if they ever made them again, neck through of course. if they would sell at all. b/c they look like guitars that would sell rather well.
