UK shipping
I really want this amp that's in the UK/London. The guy said he'd ship it but quoted 220 pounds via UPS. I thought Royal Mail would be the cheapest? Has anyone shipped an amp from the UK to wherever? Price approximations/companies? I'm almost prepared to sell up all my gear one by one till I can afford it. I really do need a decent amplifier. Since selling my AC15 I've been unable to keep up in both volume and clean toanz. It's depressing mang and earns me glares from accompanying drummer (not that their feelings matter).

That quote sounds about right to me. I once looked at shipping an amp to Portugal and it was way expensive, even shipping pedals is costly - I just sent a Digitech Expression Factory to Sp3k in Portugal and that cost £32. Amps are heavy after all and I wouldn't trust it not getting broken while travelling to the opposite side of the world. Do they not sell amps in Australia?

johnnyseven - you answered my question with your post, thanks man
I'm going to bite the bullet and save/hope that he keeps it. I just can't get value like this here and I've tried most others in it's price range (Blues Junior, etc). Have tried this amp and we get screwed by our middle-man here (probably 3x the price they sell for in the UK). Thanks again.

Sounds about right to me as well. I doubt Parcelforce Worldwide will be cheaper, they charged me £50 to ship a Marshall Combo to Manchester.
The weight is the first problem, i think if an item is over 30kg(?) the cost jumps up significantly. Secondly the insurance will bump it up if its an expensive item.

All sorted fellars.
Thanks for all who've helped... aside from a few aesthetic things the amp is perfect. I'm working on having that rectified.
Thanks again and new pics to come.
The British are awesome! He had so many cool stories/studio photos/etc to share and I'm just glad I got a new map!
