this would keep people from just lifting it and walking out the door. like if you wanted to just leave everything onstage after soundcheck. and for that purpose I would say it would be pretty useful. but if someone was really determined to steal your guitar, all this would do is slow them down. you can cut that cable super easy with wire cutters. and those bike lock style locks with the circular keys can be easily picked with a pen casing. so if it was in plain sight (e.g. onstage), then it's probably enough to deter someone from messing with it but if it's in a spot where someone can take a minute with it (e.g. backstage), it won't make any difference.
If someone wants to steal your guitar, the case being locked is not going to deter them in the slightest... they wouldn't take it out the case to steal it anyway. It being tethered to a big amp and clamped across the neck might do the trick... you may look a bit conspicuous with wire cutters onstage/having your buddy carry the amp 1 foot behind you as you leg it.
