Thought I'd share it . I love oddball mutant guitars . Very Tele ala Jazzy ala Talman ala some other shit . Thought I'd share . And it's super cheap . Nice project for upgrades .
I currently have an Alden Quadrastar ( the " Quirkstar") which plays and sounds great . Had a bad grounding and raised fret but after a set up turned out to be a complete dream.
yeah the headstock looks like the epi's out of the 70's 80's (ie wilshire and strat copies)

I really like the way some aldens (e.g. the quadrastar) look, but that is just horrible lookin'.

I actually talked to that guy when I was hunting for my Quadrastar . Want to say his name was Marco ( I'm prolly wrong ). Nice guy . He was telling me them and the Disc copies fly out their store . Hand carved abalone and aluminum discs ( though the discs are not as detailed as the real deal but who cares ) .
As for the set ups from the factory ? I doubt it . My Quadrastar needed some fret work and a set up . It was playable but buzzed in a few spots but after a set up plays great . Out of my 7 guitars I tend to play the Quadrastar ( The Quirkstar ) the most . The sound(s)( they say 75 different but it's more like 30 or 40 ) is just very distinct . Not getting all HarmonyCentralist on you but I'm surprised a higher end company like Fender or Schecter ( I think they're good ) hasn't made a frankenstein pawnshop guitar like it . Schecter had the Ultra 3 but that's a different animal. Plus I think Schecter even discontinued that as well.
I have an Alden in a Vox 1960s 'teardrop' body shape and headstock. Vox style pick-ups. It is hollow bodied with a single f hole. Sunburst finish with binding. Nice.
Oh, and Alden also did some very nice looking Vox Phantom rip offs too.
I lie both of the Aldens pictured here. I do nto like the white guitar with pearl pickguard, and I would go for a mini HB or a p90 in the nec verses a HB as well as a tele bridge pup instead of a rail... But the basic idea works for me.
The red tele would be awesome if it was a different color. Bright red guitars are not my thing. If that thing was daphne and mint people would be creaming themselves.
They say great minds think alike....Sometimes we do too...

I never liked bright red guitar either. But I bought a Jag bass in hotrod red and it is probably my favorite color. In person it is more of a salmon color though.
