Progrockabuse wrote:Borrowed one of these from my band mate. quite why he has one (bass player), i don't know. to me sound much the same as the TS9 i had and as such doesn't gel too well with my DT. glad i could try one before buying, don't feel it's worth the £150+ new price for the sound.
That satisfies my curiosity also.

Haha benecol. It's twee, but great cable and good value too. Intend to grab a longer one for pedal to amp duties.

Georgef, could be my ears are going but I just can't find much difference in them. Plus I think the ts9 looks nicer.

i've played/heard fran's TS7 and think it's really good. it can do that TS9 sound, but you get better low end and not as mid-humpy. the hot mode it great too, extra gain and a thicker sound. plus you can pick them up for good money, my local pawn shop had one going for £25, but it'd gone by the time i went back.

true that. it's only the TS7 that sounded different to me. maybe fran's godly riffage made the difference lol

I once had a 2nd hand TS7 but without a tube amp so I sold it. I've not really been able to use the TS9 as it was intended alongside tube breakup so not sure if it's going to stay or not. In which case it'll be someone else's bargain.

Afraid not. It's in mint condition, but a MIK one. Try ebay - lots on there lately I noticed. Good luck.

Prepaed to sell the Daddy-O though (see my classified thread).

Old booster makes way for a new booster. Pretty happy with my sound now.

But the Wolf Puppet was an LPB-1 with two extra tone settings. There's absolutely no difference in sound at all between the mid setting on the WPB and the LPB. Oh well!?!

I know this Tim, but unfortunately there was something going a jar between the pedal & my setup. Sound wise / features / aesthetically I preferred yours but I had real issue with crackling decay... especially in conjunction with my compressor. I tried all sorts to solve this but it wasn't disappearing, only slight improvements. Sadly it was something that bugged me. The pedal is now on ebay but before it goes I could do a side by side comparison and record it if you'd like to hear what I'm getting at here ?

The EH LPB-1 was cheap so i thought I'd give it a go to see if it did the same thing... it didn't, afterall I was very happy with the main content of sound coming from the wolf puppet. So I don't know what's going on. The minute differences in components ? hmmm....

Let me know if you're interested in some sound samples. :)

The answer must be power supply filtering. The WPB has none but I bet Electro Harmonix have added some with the new LPB. I'm gonna find some gutshots of this pedal and see if I can spot the issue.

Should that have eliminated when using a battery ? I think I tried that to no avail... can't really remember as it was a while back.

Also, Should I try it with another p/supply ? Not certain what you mean by the filtering exactly so i may be off topic.

If there's an easy fix I would be happy to pull the auction and get it back on my board.

Nah keep the auction running I'm just intrigued. Does it still decay in a weird way if you use a battery? I'm guessing that even this simple circuit needs some power filtering, so the supply is smooth and uninterrupted. Could be unrelated though. You might just have a dry solder joint!
