Thanks for all the kind comments.

I'll be playing a gig of sorts this Monday, I'll try and get someone to get a video and post it so you have an idea of how my '78 sounds. Or I'll at least get photos.

I'm surprised by the amount of people on here who say they want a Bronco but they're so hard to find. Here in Sydney I've seen about 3 short scales, a vintage mustang, a Jagmaster and a RI Jaguar. There's not much in terms of vintage short scales here...

And I'd happily add your surf green Bronco to my collection, just let me know when your ready to pass it along.

Holy chrysler motors! Nice job. I wonder if any of those were Shae's.

Robroe, I love that bdsm basement photo.

I've had serious Bronco GAS for years. This really doesn't help. That's a gorgeous collection.

This is the only decent photo I've got from last night. They were filming it though, so if anything goes up on youtube I'll post a link...

And hi Pat, I've read all about your Broncos:) I used to search Broncos on the forum and you'd always be involved in the conversations.

Does anyone have any idea about the colour of my Musicmaster body? I got told by a guy in a vintage guitar shop that it was a custom colour, but for the price i payed, I highly doubt it or the seller had no idea.

It is distinguished from previous versions by its one-piece all-plastic pickguard and numbered knobs, also used on the Bronco. Standard finishes were black, white, and red, with wine red (a.k.a. "see through red") appearing at the end of this period.

Wow! Really nice! Where are you finding all of your Broncos??? I'm not sure if I'd like my black '78 with the trem arm still in working order, I really like how it sounds now and i have a feeling it just wouldn't sound the same. I can't move my 78 bridge at all, it's basically a hardtail, whereas my '67, if I put a bit of pressure on the bridge I can create vibrato.

There's a black '78 Mustang for sale on the Aus eBay site, I'd love it as my Bronco's cousin, but its about AU$1250, so it's a bit much. The auction ended with no-one bidding, so I may contact him.

I also got my Bronco Bass, I absolutely love it. I've not really played bass until this and it's really easy compared to anything I've played before. I have uni exams at the moment though, so it's taken a lot of self control to wait until exams are over.

I hope that you guys don't mind me adding to the hi-jacking. I just purchased my first short scale, a '77 Bronco:

Everything is original, including pickups, pots, etc.

Will any Mustang tremolo bar fit this?

creem'd!

well a mustang trem arm might fit, but it might fall out or be hard to move, depending on how hard you tighten the trem arm screw (if it's still there). but i'm sure they'd be easy to "mod" into a bronco trem arm, with a little metal filing and patience. i'll post a pic of an original one later today if you wanna.

Screw is still there, would love to see a close-up of an original arm. Thanks! -Jim

Nice Bronco! I'm not sure it's completely original. The pickup covers don't usually have the pole holes.

Heres the only picture I currently have and can get of my trem for a while.

yeah, it would have had a solid black cover most probably.
