So I just bit the bullet on one of these. Got it for $387 shipped (no taxes) from same day music. Nicole's mom gave me a Benjamin for my birthday and with the other cash I had set aside for it, the price was right.

Congrats, fellow BT JM owner. You went with the sunburst, correct?

I did indeed. I hope it looks as good as the one I played. I normally hate sunburst, but this one I really liked.

Seems I payed about $5 shy of 15% off for it. Do you think I could have done better elsewhere? Seemed like a good deal considering Fender seems to always be excluded from online retailers % off deals.

Congrats my good man.... you did great on the price.... I paid $380 and then $25 for the Fender Deluxe Gigbag and I am super anal about finding the best deal... and you are right these ARE SUPPOSE TO NOT BE INCLUDED IN THESE 1x% OFF COUPON DEALS....

Enjoy!!!!

And if you are not satisfied with the function of the tone and vol pots pm me as I went thru this and have it all hashed out 8)

That's sweet. I can't wait to see and hear it. For that price, I think it's totally worth it. This guitar reminds me of a Jag-stang because of the Single Coil - hB combo. The only ones that Guitar Center carries are the Strat and Tele versions of course.

Threw some manlands on it and been playing it for a while. Needs a setup bad... frets are sharp as hell. My Rondo had better fretwork than this... BOO FENDER!

I'm gonna take it in for a setup since I suck at intonating plus it's got a buzzing from the bridge I can't figure out. And those frets... oh those frets. I'll take a pic of it tonight, but I'm sparing a review until it's had a proper setup. Oh and the action is RobRoe high, when I started effing with it is when the bridge buzzing got bad. Local shop will get her in shape for $30, need to take my mustang in anyway to troubleshoot a buzz coming from the G string.

I can dress the frets for you if you want. or you can do it. you just need to tape up the neck and take a needle file to the frets with a little care. actually the quick and dirty way is to just to give each fret end a quick file flat against the edge of the fretboard and then just take a low grit piece of sandpaper and give the edge of the fretboard decent go. then give it some higher grit sanding to smooth it all out. that usually takes care of it.

Sound wise the jazzy pup is warm and clear, love it. The middle position sounds great, a little honky but distinctly jazzmaster. The bucker is as others have stated lacking, it's got a bit of snarl but it's thin and sterile sounding. It'll almost certainly be replace with a JB.

I appreciate the offer mages, but I actually like giving the shop the business.

Here she is with the Fam (minus the 51 and Lead II currently being boxed up).

There weren't any huge issues with the frets (although there was a little wear already on them), but I had to have a setup done to mine, too. There was rattling in the bridge, he changed the .9s out with .10s, and fixed the intonation accordingly. There were a couple of other minor fixes, too, but I forgot what they were and they weren't itemized on the invoice. I was sort of surprised that much stuff had to be done to a new guitar--is this common unless you buy an expensive guitar?

Not at all. I've had Rondos and Squires right out of the box that needed nothing but an intonation after I put thicker strings on. This is the most I've ever spent on a guitar new and it needs the most work out of the box. go figure.

i think it is common with every guitar expensive or not, esp if you are going to be playing .11 or higher strings on it.
