Ibanez ORM1L

Post by Levsha »

First off, greetings and salutations!
I am new here, and I hope I'll get along with everyone!

Now, on to the business at hand.
I was wondering if anyone has one of these babies (either left or right handed), and has any experience with replacing the pickup.
Either that, or does anyone have any advice as to which pickup should be inserted into said guitars pickup cavity?

For some reason that sounded dirty.. But whatever. Does anyone have any advice on this?

Thanks in advance,
L.

I have one as you can see from one of the threads stewart posted, nice little guitar.
The pickup isn't great imo, and I was thinking of swapping it out too, but actually am going to sell the guitar as I just don't play it enough. Had I gone through with it though I would have put a Bare Knuckle Sinner in it - think it would sound great with a massively hot single coil in it.
You should post pics of your guitar( s) in the sticky thread - always good to see another lefty.

Welcome to the forum.

You can't deny Barlow's ability at writing well crafted pop songs.

Right. Now that I've done some serious noodling, I have to say.. The stock pickup is actually fine. A bit shrill, but fine. It's the tuners that bother me the most. Maybe mine are just bad, but when I do a serious bend, I can sometimes see one of the tuners detune slightly.

Think I might install locking tuners on this puppy. What would Shortscale do? Schaller? Planet Waves? Sperzel?

guitar fetish tuners have always treated me well for minimal investment.

Very nice guitar, and nice amps too.

As a lefty I like the look of these guitars a lot. Rare that we get shortscales that are genuinely affordable.
