Black Metal zine

Post by thickarms »

Spent the past week putting together the cheapest zine i could come up with and managed to make them for 0.6p a zine. All hand painted covers, pretty much made to request. Tried to 'bind' these in a unique/cheap as possible way. All illustrations by me. These are free but if anyone wants one i'd appreciate a small donation for stamps and envelopes. I have a few of my hand screened zine about kenneth anger's Hollywood Babylon left too.

anyway here it is:

ha they're awesome!

At uni I recently did a workshop about book binding and different ways of creating folding books like that, they are pretty cool. I might make some..

How many have you sold/given away?

They're quality! Do you do a lot of zines/illustrations & what not?

Dan, are you at MMU? I did the book binding induction there a few years ago.

I'm at uni at the moment so I try to get as much done as I can, sometimes I can use them in projects and sometimes projects where I can't use illustrations take up too much time. Gonna try making zines a regular thing though

& so you should, these are good.

I don't think I know anyone on the Graphics course. I graduated Interactive Arts last year, still got a few friends there so I pop in from time to time.
I was going to play a gig in the Holden a couple of weeks ago but the person who'd "organised" it hadn't organised anything & there was a meeting going on from the time I was supposed to play til the time I was having a band practise.

Ah cool. I will have to check it out if you play in there again.

Thickarms, how do you manage to make these for 0.6p?! Do you hand draw all of them or just one and then scan/print duplicates.
