It looks nice, but too expensive. Thanks for the quick reply though. :)

Theres nothing wrong with the pathfinder, i'´m just looking for (maybe) alternatives. Tubes would be prefered when in the prizerange, but as there aren't many around, transistors would do, too. Speaker size doesn't matter as it should just be a bedroom amp, but not too flimpsy.

What about the Epiphone Valve Jr?

If you don't mind getting your hands dirty you can do some decent mods with it.

I dont' mind modding it, but i would prefer a combo. But looks interresting though. What should be modded? a tone circuit could be usefull. (:

Along the Epi Valve Jr line, take a look at Thomann's small valve combo page:
http://www.thomann.de/gb/cat.html?gf=tu ... bos&oa=pra

Their Harley Benton GA5 is like the Valve jr. with a tone control. The 15 W version with 3-band EQ is a little more than you want to pay but in terms of value for money and a good base for modding... wow.

Modelling amps - the Roland Cubes are fairly well regarded. I haven't looked elsewhere, but this is Thomann's modelling amp combo page:

I even got a better idea!!! Does anyone have a schematic for the Sears Silvertone Amp-in-a-case. think its the 1448. Then i could fix that one, and my search for the mini amp would be over.

Looking into it. I'm still new to modding stuff, but the HB could be a good little amp to start with..

the guitar was the 1448, not sure that the amp that came with it has the same model number.

Pathfinder would be great. You should be able to pick up the 15R version. Mustang I would be fantastic too.

If you want a straight up amp with a Voxxy vibe(think Beatles, Brian May, Joy Division too since it's an SS Vox) get the Pathfinder. If you want more sounds, more of a vintage Fender focus(Neil Young et. all), get the Mustang.

The Mustang is better value, though the Pathfinder is a little more stylish and since it's analogue is more open to mods. Pathfinder is more straight forward too.

I hear very good things about the Fender Mustang modeling amps. There's a little one for $99 I believe. I have a Vox AC4TV that's compact and does some work. Bugera also sells a 5w tube amp that is more affordable and gets good enough reviews, I would have bought that one had they been in stock.
