Awesome!!!! That jazzy must look really photogenic leaning against your twin reverb!

It's a Matamp done up to look like your Twin, but it does cut quite a dash, yes. Has a mint guard on it now, just to appease the haters*.

i upset rather a lot of people at offset with an even milder form of that comment, i just posted it here as a spot of metaphorical knuckle cracking.

still looks pure gash though, big man.

Would play for sure, though a parchment or mint guard would be my preference.

But I'm curious: By chance am I the only one who has thoughts of minty sweetness every time surf-n-tort is in sight?

Roachello, do you still have your J. Mascis Jazzmaster? Either would go well with it!

They have a jazz just like that at the guitar center down the road from me, except it has block inlays to add even more length to the already mega huge boner for that guitar.

Thread title made me snort cherry coke out my nose.

For some reason while I don't really like tort on any Fender lead guitar finishes except sunburst or white, I really dig the '60s style JBs with any finish+tort, maybe it's the covers (I'm a fan).

Here's my banana creme SX 62 JB that I torted up a bit (it looked really yellow with a white guard).

I love a nice tort on any color but most of the new US tort guards are atrocious. That Jazz Bass in the top post is lovely but has a horrible guard. The one that was on Benecol's JM looks nice to me.

Stewart's comparison makes me want to refinish the Maverick in Sherwood Green even more than I already did. I'd actually like my guitar being compared to rotting meat.

THIS is why we're friends. Although I'd probably consider a mint pickguard as well.

I should really get some robroes for my mustang bass. It looks really good!

I have been chasing a J. Mascis Jazzmaster at a local pawn shop and got the guy down to $500 but didnt' have enough cash to close the deal yet. Trying to sell some gear to raise the funds. Did you not like the sock bridge and pickguard? I saw your demo on youtube and it sounded great.

You know, next to that blue one, it does kinda look like the spoiled version. But very nice with all new shiny.

Thank you!! It was my first and only demo, made years ago.

I liked the pickguard, but it was a little too flashy for my taste. I still have it stashed away though in case I ever do want to restore it to its original look. As for the bridge, the high e on the tuneomatic kept slipping, even after I filed it down. I could've filed it down a little more, but the roller bridge just works for me. It stays in tune well during a set, and the strings stay in place like they should!

I think the right tort works really well on Seafoam Green and Fiesta Red.
