I was gonna guess late 80's, I think it is over priced, I have seen them on craigslist here in the states for less than $600

They're rare, possibly a collectors purchase.
£599 seems fair for a UK price.

Never seen one of those before but I like it. If I had the loot I would probably want to go for it but I cant stand floyd rose's.

Great pics, they show the neck/body area (joint?), which I was wondering about.

Yeah, that's a consideration.

Oh . . . I have never seen one of those. I've always heard Hendrix played a Gibson.

Could you inform me more on this guitar, please?

yeah, the rear routing and neck joint are almost identical to a fender showmaster.

There was a shredder in Derry swore by these, reckoned they were the best guitars ever. He was a ballbag, though.

He can shred on those things? Oddly enough i've never heard of that model ever. It looks like one of their strange 80's experimental guitars.
EDIT: Andddd it looks like i was right. Produced 1981-84. it would be interesting to hear someone shred on that thing, hell it would be interesting to hear myself shred on that thing.
I'm nearly certain it was one of these. I only seen one of his when I was about fifteen and much less observant. He described it as a "Gibson strat that they made for a while in the eighties."

He was a fucking ballbag though. I got about four lessons off him when I was fifteen. In those three weeks he taught me the first half of the Whiskey In The Jar solo. I got impatient in and taught myself the more difficult second half in about a day. That's when I realised I didn't need lessons.
while searching for your use of 'ballbag,' it would appear you love using that phrase, and also know two (independent of each other) whom share an affinity for 80's setneck gibson superstrats.
