I recently got the 2nd gen Blue Mikey mic for iPhone as I wanted to be able to record rehearsals, shows, etc with the iPhone - something small that I carry always with me anyway.
The first results from our rehearsal the other day were really good, the placement of the mic in the studio was quite random but still the sound is natural and very well balanced.
I am posting a song as a sample to check it out for yourselves http://wtrns.fr/o5n3Qz2PYxwZo
There is plethora of great recording apps for the i-devices that give you the ability to record CD quality, I can see people using the Mikey for demo recording of guitars, even drums and stuff. I will try to record some stuff with the AC4 and see how it sound, will try to post something.
I definitely recommend this little mic for everyday recording to anyone. only notice - it doesnt work with iPhone4 yet.

That's a shame It sounds pretty decent. Definitely much better than anything I've recorded with the built in mic, that's for sure.riotshield wrote:only notice - it doesnt work with iPhone4 yet.

Re: Blue Mikey / iPhone-iPod mic
Apple are really good at helpfully altering their hardware at the last minute. Blue pushed the release date back for the Mikey mk2 which I waited patiently for only to discover as Blue did that Apple had moved the goalposts! I have no fear Blue will be back with mk3 soon, I hope (and I can sell my H2).riotshield wrote:it doesnt work with iPhone4 yet.

I tried to roughly record something on guitar (mustang on vox ac4tv / dirt from pog) with the Mikey to see how it sounds and its quite good. Could definitely be used for some demo recordings on the road etc.
