Classic vibe Duo sonic Owners

Post by Blue Cool »

How well do these guitars perform while distorted? I've tried to find a good review, but all of the better quality reviews only showcase the clean tones the guitar can produce.

I got the idea to try and get a used Mustang after the first of the year, but the Duo Sonic will fit the budget better. I've got a Blackstar HT-5 and I'm going to be playing stuff kinda like this:

I did a Duo Sonic demo a while back. I used Small Clone Chorus and some distortion towards the end. The pickups sound great both distorted or clean.

Thanks. That was definitely one of the better reviews.

I'll just have to try one and see how it goes. Thanks again.

Oh...It would be the one I commented on. Forgot about it. So far that's two good ones. If I pick one up, I might have to make it three.

I've seen Bomb the music industry live twice. Both times he was playing a Fender '72 tele deluxe reissue and a Fender Hot rod deville.

Jagsonic, I love that picture. the lighting makes it look like a vintage white.

Billy, if memory serves, he plays all sorts of Telecasters, which is partly why I asked if I could pull that off with the Duo Sonic.

The only thing I'm worried about the guitar is the neck being too small in my hand.

It's a decent thickness. I'm most comfortable at 25.5" scale, but the CV Duo plays really nicely. I got one for my Daughter (riiiiiiight...) and I play it a lot around the house. Havent had it plugged in in ages, but I remember it sounding really good!!!

I love the sound of flat pole single coils through a lot of fuzz.

I don't know if I'll be running through a fuzz pedal, but that's encouraging.

i dropped a lil screamin demon in the bridge position on my cv duo since i already have two single coil shortscales to play if i need that tone. it really just depends on what sounds you're looking for. i think the stock pickup sounds all right when overdriven, but it's not amazing or distinctive other than enough to say "yep, that's a single coil." i guess what i'm saying is the stock pickup is serviceable but generic; you're not likely to plug it in and go "wow! this is the sound i'm looking for!"

Thanks Dots. There's so many options, but I don't want to make any decisions until I've got it in my hands.
