I've never owned SD's but they have good enough rep. What models did you go for?

Of course it is, I just thought that it was an odd decision as your pickguard will obviously have a humbucker sized whole and, in my opinion, full sized humbuckers sound better than single coil sized ones. I swear by the Antiquity pickups. One of my Jazzmasters has Antiquity II's in it, the other has Antiquity humbuckers and my Strat has the Antiquity Surf pickups - I think they're all great. Lollar and Novak may make better pickups but there not as available in the UK, more expensive and you'd get nailed on customs charges if you brought them over.
