That is the best picture I have. The trem system isn't very good. With 9s on the guitar it wasn't bad but when I put 11s on it, the trem system was coming out of the body too much and wouldn't stay in tune for more than 30 seconds. I went to Guitar Center, picked up some strat springs for it, added as many as I could and the trem system works great. I wish it was just a hard-tail but I can use the trem system without the guitar going too out of tune. It stays in tune with itself, just goes a little flat. If you haven't played an SX, the frets are a little hard to get used to because everything else I have has vintage frets, so on one neck I'm playing over small speed bumps and on other necks I feel like I'm sliding over mountains.

The pickups sound pretty bad clean but with a tube screamer I really like the sound. I'll probably end up putting some GFS humbucker sized P90s or the GFS wide rangers.

I also have an extra (unfinished) SX neck that I bought to practice reshaping headstocks. It has a tele style headstock and once I finish the neck will probably end up on the guitar, so it won't have the totally gash headstock.

Overall, great guitars for the money but I did buy with the expectation that I could mod it to my exact specs and have a guitar taylored to my playing for under $200.

Oh, and I wouldn't bother buying an SX if you can't perform your own basic set-ups. Because they need it and it seems silly to pay $110 dollars on a guitar and $50 for a set-up.

haha. long post. any specific questions?

Nah man. You hit all the major points. I have seen that guitar on the site a couple times. I have been interested in a dual hum tele. In the past i have had a few SX's. I had a couple basses and a strat copy. I am very tempted buy that specific model. I wish they made it with a rosewood board. If they did I probably would have already ordered it.

yeahh, the neck sounds so good, and that's coming from somebody who never uses anything more than the bridge pickup. i think this will be my first foray into neckpupland. plays great. sounds killer out of my practice amp, and i can't wait for practice in an hour when i get to play it out of my regular amp. STOKED.

i dearly wanted one of those to be my first guitar but it was £400 at the time and i couldn't afford it. still, mike's probably pleased i didn't get it as my lust for old bluey would have been tempered.

I am also getting a vintage white mustang with tort next week!!! Nearly identical, but the white on mine is a tad more aged looking.

I can't wait. It's gonna be my first Fender shortscale!

I'll probably swap the pups on it, other than that I think it plays perfectly. I played it for 2 hours at the music store. I didn't even find it awkward once I got home to my jazzmaster. I don't think I'll have any problems switching between them.

pics soon.

Awesome! I'm picking this one up on friday. WE can compare. Mines a 65 reissue, though. Not vintage.

Hey guys, first post here. I used to lurk here a couple years ago and just decided to come back and start posting.

Anyway, here are my shortscales:
