This car crash is a thread of epic proportionals.

You people have been so unhelpful to this guy, it's amazing he sticks around. If I were him I would just leave or to go and seek some help with the things he has and then what do you think of that?

Wow , he only asked for a Orange Amp Alternative and it turned into this ???? WTF ?

I dabble into amps some . Kinda hard to mimic an Orange . However what kind of sound from an Orange do you want to mimic or in better words " Alternate to " ? If you're looking for clarity of an amp like a TT or any of the Orange Verbs it can be had cheaply . Not sure if you want to look into them but the Orange Solid States are pretty . I have a PiX 35 and like it . Only thing I wish it had though was a bypass to use it as a speaker cab in case you wanted to use it as a 1x8 . But with the built in effects you can mimic a tube amp . Another way is with an effects board . I have a Digitech RP500 that has preamps where I can REALLY get that Orange tone with . I plug it into my Club Class 35 ( a boutique amp I own . Kind of a Vox / Bassman Hybrid. Love this amp ) . www.clubamps.com
I'd just tell you to buy a used TT or Rockerverb if you can swing it or a good effects board and use what you have . Cheapest way to go around it . That or start saving for the real deal.

People talk all these fantastic things about Orange . There is better to be had for the same price range . I love their Rockerverb 50 but for what they want for one I can buy a Dr.Z and in some cases a Matchless which is leaps and bounds better . A Rockerverb 50 was going for about $3k in my local shop . For that I could walk out with a Divided By 13 35w , A Dr Z Z28 combo or of that variant . Hand built custom shop stuff.

I think weeping_moon's threads are often marred by a language gap as well as other issues, one of them being snarkiness and impatience that seems to work both ways sadly, one of the others is of course him not really knowing what he wants.

The best advice I would give to him (should be read this) is to ask around and check what is available locally to him. The Finnish market is probably narrow enough that a series "what do you think of these specific amps that are available to me?" threads would be more fruitful than one "show me a load of things I can't get hold of" thread. If he's stating he's looking for cheaper alternatives to Oranges, I think that only reinforces the need to look locally.

He's like Icey but without the endearing qualities everybody but me appeared to be able to see in him, in spite of the fact that weeping_moon has yet to make repeated racial slurs nor admit to paedophilia.

But yeah, he basically doesn't have a clue what he's talking about, then gets annoyed that nobody else seems to really understand him either.

yep, and he got plenty of answers in the first page of the thread, even with the complete lack of information given about what he was actually looking for.

he wants a cheaper version of 'an orange'. but he's been looking at fender twins too? that's like me saying "i really want a heavy guitar with humbuckers, something that'll sound perfect for sludgy doom rock, like a 70s les paul but cheaper. i've been looking at jaguars too" and expecting people to make a considered recommendation.

waste of fucking time.

well i was looking for orange sounding amps because my peavey valve king was making some buzzing sounds.

i thought of buying a new one and try some other amps than peavey because i have used them all my life.

but i dont have the money right now so im gonna buy a new loudspeaker to the peavey valve king 4x12 and in the time of waiting to get some money i thought asking some recommendations here on shortscale.

If you had a Peavey it's pretty easy to surpass that ( no insult intended ) . You might not even need Tube . A great amp that I like out there for not a lot of money is a Vox Night Train . Plenty of beef yet plenty of jangle . I actually liked it over the Orange TT . It was cleaner . A LOT cleaner . It is tube and it can jam . And you can just buy the Vox NT head ( and used ones CHEAP CHEAP ) and plug it in to your Peavey cabinet ( it's not a combo, right ?).

But you said you were from Sweden , right ? Why not an old Hagstrom 620 Head ? I REALLY dig those ..... :D

You said your Peavey is buzzing ? Maybe you have a bad tube .......My HotRod did that . Changed the tubes and viola .

All this talk of getting a new amp and you might just have a minor repair issue to deal with . Couple of tubes are WAY cheaper than an amp.....

I second the vox night train over the tiny terror as well. I love the night train. Not that the tiny terror is bad by any means, but I just prefer the sound of the night train and have seen used ones for very cheap.
