I'd put money on there being a project thread on Offset where someone wants to buy one of these jazzmasters and paint it a solid colour while keeping the binding. Not sure what colour they'd pick, probably whatever Belinda or Nels was seen with most recently.

You mean the Nelsindocaster. It's a relic finish where the artfully worn black uncovers an equally artistically worn CAR which allows one digits to nimbly scramble across the fretboard whilst wearing a super cute skirt.

Agree completely. The f-hole on the new Teles has some detail. The black Tele looks incredible.
Interesting to see the Filtertrons on the Teles. Probably super jangly. Of course the Teles are even MORE expensive.

Thinking about the price, what would you say is reasonable for what you imagine this to be like in playability, sound and general quality terms?

I could see maybe £700 new and around £450-500 second hand being reasonable but considering what I've seen for Fender rrp recently (not that I've been looking in particular) I'm guessing it will be more like £1200 new.

My Japanese Tele Thinline special is as good as any US Tele. It was a limited run colour of white gold. I would say these will hold their value but you will never want to part with it. Japanese Dragster pickups can be poor. I swapped the HB out for a Gibson but may now get a GF Filtertron.
