well yes and no.

just yesterday i got around to finally fixing this hum prob on my black bronco. there should be a tiny thin wire from under the bridge to the control cavity, but not in a route, but just "clamped" under it. it was gone on the blackie. fuck i didn't take a pic of it. but i just cut some 5cm of a thin high E string and it does the trick. no more hum.

also, the bridge saddles were somehow in the wrong place; if you notice, there are 2 that are very low, 2 very high and the other 2 are in between, so to say.
one of the lowest ones was under the 2nd sting, and it would always mute/die when i bent the string. so i changed the order to

lowest - mid - high - high - mid - lowest

and no prob now.

geez is somebody getting what i'm trying to say? :?

also, as i've said before, setting the intonation on these is a pain in the ass, as you have to get UNDER the string to move it.
but ok, it's all done. LOVIN' it!!!

Pat.

ps: btw i think most of you here will hate me for it, but i think i'll order a white guard for it. there is NO other oh so classy look than white on black...
maybe.
my name is Pat.

My Bronco arrived today.Even though the temp outside is a balmy 14 degrees Fahrenheit the guitar is probably colder. I put it in the closet to thaw.I have read that the finish on the Broncos if thin and fragile.I don't know if this is true but I don' t want to take a chance by opening up the case too soon. How long should I wait? I'm thinking at least 8 hours.

i would say ship it to me where it's a bit warmer, and then after i've worn it in, it should be suitable to open at your house.

Comrade Kruger says we should delay any decision until they conclude the special meeting of the Central Committee.

i don't see how the paint would be thinner than other 70s poly finishes (i.e. thicker than the earth's crust). still, it's in minty condition so better safe than sorry.
