Haha i just realised I purchased a comp stripe from OP off of ebay. - was a nice product and did what I needed it to do! thanks fella

This means that instead of the whole guitar being shifted down the octave and being muddy sounding (full chords with thirds in lower registers often aren't useful) you can put just whatever note is being played on the bottom two strings down, which with a bit of planning means that you can have a proper bass part and then a guitar part above it.

Clever and very useful.

My oc-3 does all that for me though.

It can differentiate between the notes it's receiving and then only put some of them down the octave? Is that what the Polyoctave mode is? That's also clever and very useful.

It still doesn't do it as well as this. Having the effect act on specific strings is a far better way of doing it than on certain notes. This way you could play the same note on two different strings and only have one of them shift down.

I think this mp3 shows the oc-3 off pretty well, I have it set so it works on more than just the top 2 strings though they are the most prominent.

i want to suggest to you to buy a pack of Bass VI strings.



change your E string to a .72

trust me it will work on a strat, then use the other strings in the pack any way you want along with your normal guitar stirngs

Sounds good, very useful. Can you have it split the outputs so that the octave down can then be put through a bass amp and the dry sound goes to a guitar amp?

That was my idea haha, although I have cut my fuzz pedals down to 2 from the 4 or 5 I started with on my board.
