The Supernova came in both Man. City blue or Union Jack finish - while I'd never have a union jack guitar (or much else, for that matter) I'd be interested in playing a blue one, since they're meant to be very good.

I always thought they were a cross between a Riviera and a Sheraton and had nice necks, but it would appear that apart from the neck inlays, I'm wrong.

That's what I thought too, Sheraton body Riviera neck. They also came in black.

Didn't Johnny Marr give Noel the union Jack 335?

They came in Cherry and Sunburst too apparently, ebay says:

Pickups look larger than the mini humbuckers my old Riviera used to have, maybe it is just a Sheraton?

definitely looks like a mix of both. the pickguard is from the Riviera but the pickups and body look similar to my old Sheraton from the 80s. I'd be interested in trying one of these as I loved my Sheraton and only hear nice things about the Riviera

Shouldn't it be referred to as the Union Flag? It's only called a Union Jack when flown on a ship, I think.

It's long had a bit Brit-shorts and lager/last days of the Raj bullshit association. It's problematic in umpteen ways, and always gets adopted by any knuckledragger with an unpleasant manifesto. A shame really, but best to shy away from.
