This pedal features the amazing new 'TonePrint' Concept that gives users instant access to the sounds of thier favorite guitar heros. A TonePrint isn't just a static preset, it's a complete re-tuning of the pedal including the sound and how the pots react - everything that makes the pedal unique. TC Electronic have collabarted with some of the best guitarists in the world - such as John Petrucci, Ron 'Bumblefoot' Thal, Joe Perry, Orianthi and Doug Aldrich - to create the first batch of TonePrints. The list of contributing artists will expand massively in the future, so forget emulation, lets talk about collacoration!.
A Simple USB cable connects tyhese pedals to any PC or Mac for the actual Tone Transfusion. Each Pedal is capable of holding one TonePrint at a time, but the process is unlimited as users can swap TonePrints as many times as they want. All of these custom made TonePrints can be downloaded at TC Electronics Website, and best of all - its easy, fast and totally Free !.

As one of the commenters says, I wonder if they'll allow access for the users to make their own presets? I think that's really where the interest in this will lie for this; who gives a fuck what one semi-famous guitarist uses when you can tweak it for you OWN sounds?
This is a feature type thing on Line 6 spiders, I believe, but they come with software so that you can come up with your own tones and then upload the settings to their forum with a description and such, or you can browse the forums for something and download a tone that someone else has put together.
Seems like it would take longer than just being handy with an EQ and a few pedals.
cool idea, especially if ur in a cover band.... but like said above Line6 did it first, the Fender Mustang amp, and now this.... I wanna sound like me.... I would rather be handy with pedals I have.... or build a pedal to how I want it...

It looks like it's more than just a way of downloading settings (which you could potentially dial in yourself with the unit's controls); more like you are (or rather Johnny DemiGod is) effectively tweaking values of internal components to shape the sound in a more drastic way.
Interesting idea, but this whole "tweakability" thing is definitely getting a bit silly.

well if this is using "technology" to change values of the caps and resistors than its not a true analog pedal then, it has to be digital or something of the sort...... therefore its nothing new and just a gimmick......

You can take impulse responses and apply them over your own stuff to get sounds very close to the impulse source. Interesting, but something I haven't personally experimented with yet.

At what point did you think a pedal you can plug into your computer wasn't digital?

did not know if they may have came up with new magic to CONTROL an anolog circuit
look at hydraulics on machinery..... its all the same old school hydaulics but is controled by digital techy do-dads now

There's something Douglas Adams-ish about 'collabarting'.
Seems like an odd selection of guitarists, I would have thought more classic universally known figures would be the obvious choice. Perhaps its the cost of signing them/their estate up.
Anyhoo i can only really see this be of massive interest to fanboys of those guys. I like Bumblefoot a lot but no interest in pilfering his tonez.
