BAHA all I need is a phaser to complete my Mick Jones tone... or should I say Reverb, chorus and delay + phaser = Somebody Got Murdered.

Well, Roland's guitar synthesis is pathetic. Unfortunately, they have so much market share (because those eighties metal demos appeal to the mass market) that they put Axon out of business.

Crap compared to this:

Y'know, I really hope the Rock Band 3 controller sweeps away the glitchy, crap hexaphonic pickup based synthesisers. I'm genuinely excited about it- the price is right $289, it's made by Squier so the quality should be decent enough, and MIDI out means you can plug it into any el cheapo synth. It has real mass appeal. Plus it works on proper electrical connections like the old Hagstrom Swede Patch 2000 synth, so tracking shouldn't be a problem like the systems which attempt to recognise notes.

Aha true, it'd be awesome. You could also hook it up to sibelius or guitar pro and use it to transcribe riffs :!:

Must get a job

Apostle of Hustle. I saw him live. that guy is brilliant with the looper. I would start to lose count how many loops he had going at once. they were a three piece though. also, I've seen some solo acts that use it. Grey Anne and Your Heart Breaks. Grey Anne does the tedious layering your talking about. It's cool at first, she loops claps and random percussion instruments but the novelty of it wears off after a few songs. Your Heart Breaks is amazing. often they perform as a band but this show was just the singer playing a squier strat with a looper and an orange crush (sounded great). absolutely captivating performance that really created that feeling where you've been taken away to another place.

Nevermind about half of them, check out Adebisi Shank, incredible loop and hold work, at ridiculous speeds as well.

Russian Circles used a few loopers as well when i saw them. I was amazed at how he was managing to control them to add the layers to the songs.

i haven't seen "everything" yet but overall i'm benignly nonplussed: & i think the fact that this thread has descended into some strange indictment of looper pedals is most definitely not a good sign...

riff box is a shit looper.

The boss loopers suck.

The looperlative pedal will be good when he works out the bugs. Actually make "when" "if".

'Rang III is alright.

Who cares about what you can and can't do in a band. Wow you can't use all your pedals in a band context big fucking deal. But what do I know, I am a asshole solo guitar player who never wants to bother playing with other people again in his life as machines are easier to deal with then people, and complain a lot less when i hit them for fucking up.
