Don't be daft. Outside of the reverbs, those pedals are pony. PD-01s crop up on eBay and HCEFX Classifieds all the time: I'll keep an eye out.

I was just wondering if they were worth a look. I'll keep an eye on ebay for the Zoom. The Sansamp GT2 looks interesting, as does their range of character pedals - isn't the Behringer Tube Amp modeller a clone of the Sansamp?

Yes. You've got three amp model choices, three mic placement choices and three gain stage choices besides the regular controls to shape volume, gain, bass and treble. Really versatile for the money.

Incidently, John (our singer/guitarist) has been over to the guys house today that makes Coopersonic and bought the Dirt Box. I'll let you know how it sounds after tonights rehearsal.

Can't you use them straight into a PA at a gig as well without an amp? That'd be sweet. All the demos I've heard show high gain, not the softer end and clean amp simulation.

The first pedal I ever had was an Ibanez SP5 Slam Punk, I think it had knobs labelled blast, spike and anarchy.

This. Been trying to buy my friends for ever, but he won't get rid of it. Very good sounding low gain pedal, if the knob is a bit odd.

Dr. Scientist The Cleanness. It's amazingly versatile as well. You can cut and boost lows, mids, and highs. Master volume for clean boosts and what not, as well as a gain control thats an OP amp booster. Amazing amazing pedal, easily one of my favorites.

Edit: expensive but has so much versatility, no longer in production cuz according to Nick they were not profitable enough

Okay, the pedal did sound great, quite similar to my Fulltone but more gain available. Maxed out it gave John that early Sabbath sound like a tube amp pushed to its limit with dirty break up, but bare in mind we are in drop A tuning and he uses a Gibson SG. It may be cleaner with single coils though and might fit your needs but im not completely sure.
The downside is the switch is faulty so John gave Martin a call at rehearsal and has to take it back tomorrow. I'm sure this is a one off though.

I'm still really digging the cool cat drive. Does great low gain sounds and keeps the low end intact and tight. Plus if you need it to, you can crank the fucker and blaze away.

I really like the Dano TOD as well, you can get some serious crunch out of that thing. I think the Drive has an edge on it concerning gain though.
