Does anyone else have maple pattering?
Im just wondering how common it is

Not sure what you are wanting. But it looks like birds eye maple as the type of wood.

Well it is just a figuring pattern that is associated with hard maple. Some times it is selected for and other times it is just there out of the blue on a plank.
