I finally paid it off tonight! They threw in a new set of strings, a setup and they took the sales tax out of the price. The case is non original and pretty beat up, I need to get one new latch for it but other than that it's awesome! The bass is in amazing condition. It's a '99 and like most used Ric basses that I've seen, it looks like it was owned by someone who didn't play it. It's in perfect condition, barely a scratch on it, and no dents or dings. That won't last long though, I'm sure it all get scratched or dinged at my gig this weekend! So far I've only played it through the Orange Terror bass and AD 200 rigs that they had at the shop, and my Orange Crush practice amp, but I'll be playing it through my Ampeg SVT on sunday and I can't wait!

YES! I loved that movie! The funny thing about that scene, is if you watch the behind the scenes stuff on the dvd, you can see the recording session for that scene, the guy playing the vegan's part is playing a Ric, and the guy playing Scott Pilgrim's part is playing a competition mustang bass.
BTW, I hate that scott pilgrim scene, only because the Ric gets destroyed and it's totally worth more than the compstang bass *shakes fist at edgar wright*.

I'm sure they didn't actually destroy the ric, I know they had a fake plastic or rubber one on the set for any scene where they were throwing it around. They probably broke that one, and then just put duct tape all over the real ric for the next scene where he plays it.
I really can't believe how much I love this bass! It's a completely different feel from my Fenders, and I love it! The neck doesn't seem to flare out so much when it gets toward the heel, so it's more comfortable to play all across the fretboard! I can't wait to play it at my show on sunday!
Dude that's awesome (dodges flying jaffa cake). I've played those every chance I've gotten, they're quite unique and in a class of their own really. Congrats!

Thanks. I'm not actively searching at the moment, since new gear isn't my current priority hence "someday". I'm happy with my CV P bass for now, and I'll probably even keep that one whenever I do buy a 4003 since they're so different. Of course if the right beat up 4003 comes along for $1000 or something I'll probably purge whatever I have to on ebay to get it.
