Yeah, I wish I had a better photo of the guild. My shitty cell phone camera makes the grain look way flat. I never really liked flashy wood grains (i.e. flamed maple) but this one just works for me I guess.

Nice lookin guitar. Parlors are way classier than dreadnoughts.

And yep, I did the mustang. First and last time painting with nitro. Vintage correct is over rated.

Thanks dude...Nitro that much of a pain then? I guess if you have a load of space / ventilation equipment it's easier than it would be for me. I live in an upstairs flat where spraying anything, let alone nitro would be an issue.

Everything's just slower with nitro compared to poly, and it's too easy to fuck up for me. I made cheap ass spraying booth though for painting inside by cutting the front off a cardboard box and sticking the hose from a shop vac into the side with the other end by the window if that makes any sense.

had to give it a bit of a setup after swapping the strings, i haven't tried it through my main rig yet, but it feels like my black mustang that i was swindled on
i'm gonna run it through the paces tonight.

Finished my 1978 Musicmaster guitar in Fiesta Red. Words can't describe how awesome this guitar is?!!! I can now fully appreciate why people go gaga over vintage instruments.

Squier Badtz Maru Bass, Drippy Eyeliner effect from Sharpie + Polyurethane, Lace Red Sensor

MIA Musicmaster Bass, Refin in Lake Placid Blue, Lace Hot Gold Hot Bridge

and lace pups work quite well. i have a tendency to put them in the bridge of my mustangs.
as well as i tossed one into one of my acoustics.

Yeah, they're great for when you want to have a bit of compression going in already, they are great for if you want to knock off some of that ice pickiness of the bridge position, and they're great with effects since they provide such a pure sound. As a result, they lose some of that vibe, I suppose. If I got another Mustang (and I probably will, olympic white), I'd probably put Dimarzio Area pickups in or something like that. I believe in using noiseless pickups in Mustang because the out of phase position is hard to use with noisy pickups IMO.

For these short scale basses, Lace pickups just plain sound great.
