Number and placement of speakers has more to do with volume than wattage. With 4 10s, I wouldn't be at all surprised if it stayed clean at band levels.

Those Roland Jazz chorus amps are fuckin rad, though.

Used my DLS and OCD Dual Driver through it at Do You Ready? And thought it sounded pretty ace. Never heard anyone else say the Hot Rod Deluxe was a bad pedals amp, people normally say the reverse.

I have a tiny terror and tried out a laney lionheart head for about a week. The shop also had a used roland jazz chorus.

The jazz chorus would be best for loud cleans that show off pedals.

The lionheart would be second best but isn't really magic sounding in itself.

I own a tiny terror and it sounds great as an amp on its own. The cleans are always dirty and mainly from rolling off volume and attack dynamics. I've stayed with the tt because the sound of the amp and its dynamics are more important to me than pedals. I will save up for a better orange amp as that is what I really want.

No bro deal is ever as good as waiting to get what you really want.

i've owned a blues deluxe and currently own a dual terror.

if you like using pedals, the blues deluxe is more pedal friendly. using it as a clean amp, you can turn it up to compete with a loud drummer and still get crystal cleans. i wouldn't go for it for it's drive sounds, very lacking in any sort of gain.

the Dual terror is more plug in and play, it can be quite fickle with drives/fuzzes/dirt. you have to spend a bit of time tweaking, but it's very rewarding. i set one of it's channels clean-ish it'll stay pretty clean to an extent. i use it at half power, so you get a little bit of edge/compression to the clean sound anyway. but if you stick it on full 30 watt mode, it'll be very clean. not fender clean, but a very nice clean. i prefer it to my fender's clean, as that could be quite ice pick like at times.

buy as high wattage 1x12 combo you can find a good deal on and use the leftover money to buy a mic to put in front of that shit for gigs.

+1 the guitarist in my band used a valve junior for a long time and he would just mic it at gigs.
