Yep, absolutely beautiful - there's no bass I'd want more.

Nick wrote:Thanks. I'm not actively searching at the moment, since new gear isn't my current priority hence "someday". I'm happy with my CV P bass for now, and I'll probably even keep that one whenever I do buy a 4003 since they're so different. Of course if the right beat up 4003 comes along for $1000 or something I'll probably purge whatever I have to on ebay to get it.
Yea I would recommend keeping the P bass too. I'm still trying to sell my Jazz bass, and I sold my stingray to pay for this. But once everything that I'm trying to sell is gone I'll have my P bass and my Ric, and that's a damn good combo!

'grats, d00d. Though it's had its issues (bridge pickup crapped out out of NOWHERE about 1.5 years into my owning it), my '08 Jetglo 4003 I received for my 21st birthday a few years ago is a gift I will be forever grateful to my parents for. Love them clanky tones!

+1

I can't even get close to justifying one at the moment but I like to think that, maybe, one day...

Ditto. Dunno what colour I'd get it in, but it would be a Rick (shame I'm lefty though, which'll probably put the price at an even more unattainable level).

Congrats though. Do look amazing IRL, as shown by your gig pics.

Yea, The lefty ones seem to be even more rare, and probably cost even more because of that! All the colors that they have look really good in person. Except for mapleglo, I just think it's a little too plain for a Rick. The shop I got mine from also had a Jetglo (black) and Midnight blue and they both look amazing too. I normally don't like white pickguards on black guitars or basses, but that combo just looks right on a Rick 4003.

Awesome Rick bass! Does it have a chain pull starter in the back or did those just come on the 4001? FYI: I put a Rickenbacker in the classified section in case you wanted to start a collection.

Grats Billy, I've always wanted one of those, and don't think I'd ever stop playing Joy Division songs if I had one. P.S. You look like Isaac Brock (Modest Mouse) in those photos (especially the 2nd and 3rd ones).

Love Joy Division! Thanks dude! I'm a modest mouse fan so I'll take that as a compliment!
