Correct me if i'm wrong but it looks like half Strat/half Mustang/half filler. Some decent parts worth salvaging though, maple neck? Dont recall a maple Mustang neck ever..

Ha ha, ad says the body has been repaired!!! the left side looks like half an old work surface... nice guestimate on the size.

The owner actually posted about it in the Projects forum a few weeks ago, never up for sale....

Hello, first post and all that.. but straight in the deep end with pics a project plus a good chance of upsetting a few purists Wink

Back in 2002 I won a Mustang body off ebay, it came with a few bits, a re-issue pickguard, 2 pickup covers and the original chrome bridge cups. I've always wanted a Fender Mustang, ever since I worked out what those groovey customised guitars Adrian Belew used to use.

I ordered some hardware to make the body complete and was thinking about getting a neck made up by someone like USACG.

But luckily enough the seller had the neck listed a few weeks later along with some other vintage bits in his listings. 1966 bridge, some old Fender "F" tuners and a re issue trem.

Stuck it all together and came up with this...
I'd love to see someone with the skills pick this up, paint it, sort it out (and then sell it to me obviously). I actually think it'd be a really cool guitar given some love.

I think someone would have bought it here, but it's locked into sale and the guy didn't have the requistite 50 posts anyway.

Yes. I am clearly on drugs. I forgot about the 70's run of Mustangs.

The body wants binning surely? But it's worth watching for the neck and various parts.

I would have to see it in person, but if it were unusable I would prolly either saw it in half and replace the bad half, or just get a different Mustang body and sell the other. If it's just oversized, I would think about shaving down that Strat horn and fixing the contour.

Looking again, I think it could easily be saved. I would not worry about the filler.
