Once again, being new to the short scale world, I have been told I will need to use a heavier string on my Duo Sonic...an .11.or .12 and possibly a wound 3rd? Some one please steer me in the right direction. Thanks!!!

dammit.
i got 20 packs of these and so far every high e i've tried to use has busted, so i just use them for spares and use the b string as a high e. lol
still a fucking good deal!
I've been using these of late... 6 months down the line they still sound really good if not better. They'll work out cheaper than your regular set by the time they're done.

ok, so i'm not the only one who had to do this. i had to use two packs after finding the b to be dissatisfying as an e on my epi goth LP.

I was happy until today. 2 of my wound g strings (har har) started essentially unraveling at each fret. Switched to the unwound string.
+1
I've had these on a couple of guitars for a few weeks. Did a two fret bend at the 12th fret on the high e and the ball end completely unravelled, flying off somewhere in the room (yet to be found) and taking me by surprise. An .011 string at 24.75" scale and standard tuning should be able to take that comfortably around that fret and I'd been impressed with the strings until then so it was definitely surprising.

I use the 12-53 with a wound 3rd, damn nice strings.
I might try some D'addario Half Rounds or the La Bella Nylon Tapewounds next on my archtop, can't decide yet.
