Help. Bronco Original Colours
Hello,
I'm a new member and am currently in the process of restoring/upgrading a
1973 Fender Bronco. The state of the body when I purchased it was routed for a neck pup, stripped and
stained natural, the original owner said he didn't know the original colour, but that someone
painted over it a type of red and his craftsmanship was poor. Hence, he stripped
and stained it. It came with all the original parts and pup, no vibrato arm though.
My question: where can I find out the what colours are faithful to the guitar
and the time period. I would like to have it painted (possibly something other than Dakota
red). I have cut a new black pick guard (to take advantage of the bridge pup cavity) in case
I want to return it to its original state, a white pick guard loaded with original pup and electronics.
Photos will be posted when my camera is fixed next week.
Thanks in advance,
QuadBronco

erm he has a disease... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marfan_syndrome
I also have heard that johnny ramone had it.Musicians and composers Niccolò Paganini, Sergei Rachmaninoff, and Robert Johnson are thought by some to have had the disease. Abraham Lincoln may or may not have had Marfan's syndrome, although he undoubtedly had some of the normal characteristic features. According to a 2007 theory, it is perhaps more likely that he had a different disorder, multiple endocrine neoplasia type 2B, that caused skeletal features almost identical to Marfan syndrome.
i've never seen one of those... or... could my broncoblaster be one of them?!stewart wrote:oh yeah, forgot about those.westtexasred wrote:I read that there were some of the last few were painted "Midnight Wine"!stewart wrote:i've only ever seen red (dakota or something extremely similar), and later in the 70s they made black or white ones.

even if you would have, you wouldn't have it now.westtexasred wrote:Remember that purple Bronco that used to belong to the bass player in Soul Asylum? I posted a picture of it here a few years ago but now I can't find it. It had a cool paint job and sold for about $400.Wish I had bought it.

Bronco colours
Hey thanks everyone, food for thought here, and DGNR8,
I am going to check out the ReRanch website for their colours.
Just knowing that Bronco's were only 4-5 colours originally
really helps me out.
Thanks everyone.
