78 Mustang... to the bandsaw or not?

you can clearly see the mismatched piece of wood on the top of the guitar.

The necks on those maple stangs are really cool. They really suck when they need their frets replaced, though.

It's a smashed up Mustang. Factory stamps inside pickup cavities etc. It just had a bad choice of repair template by who ever repaired the body.

Make sure your template is accurate and aligned properly. Cut and route the corners. Done.

Mustang sheilding..?

Since I put the thing together years ago, I've recently found out about the brass plates used as sheilding/grounds in thses things.. Are they available anywhere? I ahd a quick look but didnt find owt. (didnt look far)

Or does sticky back copper sheet do ok and solder a line to it, maybe a screw in the body?

Can't find it either, but I found Jaguar/Jazzmaster shielding you could modify to fit.

just buy some brass (hobby shops will have it, as will some hardware stores, do you have an Elliot's up there?) and some tin snips. I used window glazing points to hold it in on The Sonic Kitten
