70's Gibson ES335

Post by kylinder »

Does anyone own/did own, or play a mid 70's or early 80's 335?

I've never had a chance to play a vintage one but would love to. I'm thinking it'll be my next purchase after i've tried a few.

If you have could you give me some opinions please, negative or positive.

I'd love one with a bigbsy or at least a trapeze tail piece so I could fit one.

Every 70's Norlin 335 ive played has had that great vintage gibson mojo. For the most part i think the norlin stigma is attached to les pauls from that era. I'd say go for it...is it cherry red w/ blocks? those are my favorite. Definitely on my wish list.

Cherry is lovely but my first choice would be walnut with blocks.

I'd have to get one in America though as I rarely see one for sale in the UK. There is one on ebay uk at the moment but i'd prefer an older one or at least with a lighter finish.
