I see them crop up on Ebay sometimes and in a lot of ways, they're perfect for me because they're contoured, striped, and matched headstock...
Anybody got opinions?

Fuck yes. This is my dream mustang. I saw it in white and didn't realize it was the same guitar!

Right? It looks absolutely killer. It's got everything I want from a current model Mustang (except maybe poplar body but whatever) but I have not heard much talk about them.

I will probably end up building a Mustang before I buy one. If that happens I want to add the contours and tummy cut that these have. If I use an All Parts neck, I will do the matching headstock and perhaps even a competition stripe if I feel lucky. The lazy side of me wants to buy one and the creative side wants to build it. I almost bought a 1972 Mustang body so I could copy the contours.

I suppose I could go that route but yeah, for a few bills more I can get the real thing.

I'm pretty sure the MG73 is closer to the 69 Ri than the 65 Ri.
I think its basswood and has a 69 Ri neck (which I love) and I have no idea about the pickups.
I almost traded my 95 Classic Series Mustang for a Comp Orange MG73 a month ago, but the dick bailed on me.
BLAH!

Well I'm not really worried about electronics much, since I plan to get different pickups anyway. It's the body and neck and bridge I want to know about.

I have one and I love it.
Best neck that I've played so far and has a nice grain on the back of it. Pickups sound very clear and bright.
One of the bridge saddle's has a loose spring that rattles, I'll fix it soon enough.
The only thing that bothers me is that the decal on the headstock is black instead of white.
I hope I get these pictures right

Yeah well if you say so.
I think once I finish a few projects, I'll give my MG65 to my friend as a present and then get the 73 for myself, in white. It will pretty much be the best thing ever. :>
