Chunky 25.5 necks

Chunky necks are'nt my usual fortay so i could do with some suggestions team!

For some time now i've had issues with the dropped A tuning in the band. The dilema is i'm using the heaviest gauge strings as far as i know and they are still too flappy especially on my short scales. Even on the Strat the neck seems too slim to cope with it, because i usually play in standard tuning i'm bending notes almost off the board!

So yeah, looking for suggestions on a chunky 25.5 scale neck. I've got various bodys it could fit on if its bolt-on...

The Squire '51 neck was a personal favorite.

I just got the Squier custom ii that I posted about in another thread, and the neck on it is like a baseball bat a right chunky fucker... not that Iâ€™m intending to sell the neck; just a suggestion for you to look out for.

Bizarrely... the Telebastard i bought off Noirie has a 51 neck and that is next in line to be tried out AND i thought about the Squier Custom II i briefly owned today. That was quite a cumbersome neck.

Of all my guitars I keep returning to the Nu-Sonic because it has a proper classy fat bastard Telecaster neck. I'll play it for months, feel guilty for neglecting my other more expensive guitars and play them for a bit as well, usually starting with the Batwing. My first thought is "what a skinny neck! MEEDLY MEEDLY MEEDLY" and I'll play that for a few weeks. Then I'll pick the Nu-Sonic up again and it feels so stupidly comforting to be holding that wideass piece of wood in my hands (oo-er missus! etc etc).

I must admit of all the guitars I've owned the Nu-Sonic and my Squier Telecaster Custom II were the best.

I should be finishing my Nu-Sonic mod in the next two weeks so I'l post it up for you to see Fran. I'm turning it into a twin-humbucker rock machine for downtuning purposes only.

The Allparts fat neck for the tele is meant to be one of the biggest (cheapish) aftermarket necks you can get - there are a few floating around on eBay at the moment. The Nocaster is meant to be the biggest, though.

I've had several Gibsons mate, they are over priced and in any case i dont think 24.75 would help matters.

Right. I've put 13's back on the NJ Mockingbird, its the only fuck-off neck i've got that copes with this shit.
No low E rattle, more tension, more girth to grapple with..

I'll see how this goes. I used it on the last recording and it worked well but some members of the band hinted it looked too Metal

if you can get along with the headstock, get an SX guitar. The necks are as chunky as my Epiphone Dot. I personally like the neck on my SX tele mutt more than any Fender tele I've played. It's like if you were to take a Gibson neck and mix it with a Japanese Fender and give it a stupid headstock and an orange crayon.

in all seriousness, the orange/headstock isn't as bad, in person, as I thought it would be.

The Tele Deluxe necks are frickin' huge and awesome; they're a C-shape that feels like the business end of a baseball bat. It's one of my favorite necks, and Mike can attest to its giantness.

I think my MIM 50s tele is my biggest neck. The 52 is bigger, and I played a Japanese 50's tele with bigsby that was monstrously huge.
The squier 50s tele is a bit thinner than the Fender, to my memory.

You serious? Is it solid? I had a Bullet special and the neck was good for dive bombing notes when you put some pressure on it.
