So i'm looking for a humbucker guitar. I currently only have a Jag as my electric but i've been wanting something with humbuckers recently, something in the 600 dollar range.
The problem is. Most of the guitars look godawful gash. Them Ibanez ones looks terrible to me, and an Explorer is just too much. Give me some suggestions.

Ibanez Gax75, wrapover bridge and you can remove the 'drop D switch' if you want. They are brilliant for the money but if he's got $600 to play with i'd at least get a set neck.
Needs to be more specific to narrow the search down; new, second hand, shape, weight, etc?

Well, I have an 80s SG200 which is like a stripped down 2000 but still sounds the same, you can pick them up for $250 second hand of course. There quite a few SG models by Yamaha but most people avoid the later Korean models although they are still decent.Lucamo wrote:Is that Ibanez any good?
Drop D Switch?!
I had no idea the SG2000 sold for over 1500 new.
The GAX75 is nice for the money and the switch works but looks a bit crap. It's a bolt on though, lots better stuff about for $600!

Look for a second hand one of those. Cracking guitars.

My son's got a Schecter C1+ which he says is a great player but he's having to sell it to pay for his share (£300) of the band's music video.
He's currently into single-coil sounds and will finish his last instalment on the USA Tele special next month.
Worst case, I'll buy it off him to keep it in the family. He can buy it back when he's rich and famous.
