A big Hayman gimmick was modularity. One of their main ranges had the electronics mounted to a removable plate allowing you to buy new modules and easily swap them around different switching options. This is a fairly similar setup. The problem is that it never really took off. Back in those days the guitar shops would stock the guitar and you'd have to send off via mail order for the modules, so most of them ended up with just the one module they came with and that was that. Over the years, the rare few people who actually did buy any extra modules invariably lost them, so you'll find a few with non-original modules but not much else. Shame, really.
Also, it seems that transparent perspex was the future. This is actually a fairly sedate example of perspex fetish Haymans, some of them had that shit all over the place.
If money was no object I'd have that in a flash, but it is a bit of a high price. Try and find a twin-humbucker black Shergold or Hayman. Nowhere near as flashy but stupidly nice, high-quality and probably a damn-sight cheaper as well. I've seen them advertised for about £250 here and there.

It's sort of dark ('smoked' or 'frosted') but it is clear, see the flame and f-hole through it?gaybear wrote:clear or no pick guard would be nice
I'm not crazy on the upper horn. Would prefer a symmetrical version of this based around the lower horn, something like:
