NBD for my Friend: Epiphone Thunderbird
My friend and I went to Guitar Center today and were looking at basses and he pickup up this beautiful Epiphone Thunderbird for $200. I am not a bass player, but it was really nice and I was excited for him since has talked about getting one for a while.. For that price I even thought about taking it home. I love the shape and tone. Great bass for the money. I also played a Squier Bronco Bass that was very comfortable. Might pickup a used one since I know lots of people here have enjoyed their Bronco basses as well.

I really like those, I almost bought one in Pelham Blue which was an exclusive at one retailer or another, you see em on eBay a lot.

Nice! I assume it's used by the $199 price tag? That's pretty damn good for GC! I usually see them go on craigslist for about that much. The GC by me in ATL has one that they still have the New price tag at $299 hanging on it, and clearly the thing was either used and heavily abused, or it has fallen off the wall and been horribly repaired. There is a crack along the back of the neck in line with the nut, and then wrapping around and following the fretboard along to the 3rd fret on each side. It has cracks and dents all over it. I am thinking that it was just dropped, and they're being shady by not changing the price tag on it because they also have a "New" Squier 50's Classic Vibe p bass with huge cracks and dents all the way through to the wood on the front of the body with the full price sticker on it still, and a Classic Vibe 60's Telecaster in the same condition for full price. Shadiness at the GC.
