WOOOT.

Why does it have 2 three way sliders and a two or three way switch on the lower horn?

If that's it, you can sign me up for two. The only flaw is the Enforcers, and the fact that they have two screws on the bass side. I wonder if it would be possible to make some kind of adapter so you could swap in a regular hb without drilling an extra hole? Or if Novak would be able to convert these to original WRHB specs like he does for the reissues.

Other than the too-hot pickups, this is basically what I would want in a custom build. Any idea on price or available colors? Please say black and shell pink? Probably MIM, right?

I don't think it works like that. Both guitars are named after something that already exists. I mean, if some cheaper company created a guitar called the McCarty then PRS would probably lean heavily on them to GTFO, but if a cheaper guitar company came out with a guitar called a Custom then there's not much they could do.

If they've done the switching right so you can choose which coil to cut on each pickup that'll be a really great guitar. I had a Jazzmaster with re-issue wide ranges wired like that and it was loads of fun - you could practically cut the top or bottom three strings, or have the bass from one pickup and the treble from the other.

And if they've stolen the Motorik body shape I'll sue...

It does seem a little more offset.

Mustang has 18 different settings.

Dang I've got a project with custom pups that was going to do just that - thought it was my idea :x

Hhmmm Mustang with out a mustang style trem plate is shit. Again it's 90% there with big 10% fail element. WHY CAN'T FENDER GET IT RIGHT. That with a either a normal mustang bridge or something that retains the plate shape and it would be cool-as. Strat bridge looks wrong with a pickguard shaped for a different bridge. FUCKING HELL it's not rocket science.

I like the look of it on the whole. Some people would prefer the hard tail option anyway.

well duo-sonics and musicmasters never had a mustang trem plate, they look fine. it would definitely look better with something like a toronado bridge but, ehhh...

I really like that they've come up with new design features and given it a new name. that's more dignity than they've given the jaguar as of late.

The main reason Fender usually issues new versions of these old shapes without the proper trems is that so many people view them as a liability. We're a small community of people who love the way they look, in many cases even the way they operate, and all that kind of thing. But that's not what the vast majority of conservative minded guitarists out there want.

The recent Guitarist Magazine review of the whole Blacktop range gave all the models apart from the Jazzmaster the thumbs up, concentrating on the apparently odd decision of Fender to keep the "idiosyncratic" trem plate of the original design on the Blacktop version, giving it a lower score than the rest for this reason alone.

Looks good. Add in a Maple fretboard option and we're away.

Just to clarify my point is not against it being hard tail my complaint is that they haven't cut a pickguard for that bridge OR that they haven't used a hardtail bridge that fits the cut of the pickguard. So it look like someones project who didn't have anything but a stock guard to use. I.e it's a lazy new model and a lazy bit of design. All they had to do was a bespoke pickguard and it would be all it's own little creation and there lies real dignity.

He's right, toronado bridge would have made all the difference.

What colors, which models?
The ones that previously only came in Sunburst and black will now also come in red. The ones that previously only came in sunburst and red will now also come in black.

I just made that up but that's about the extent of creativity in the paint room.

Good point! Wonder if one would drop stright in... otherwise I'd be inclined to get a custom PG that works with that bridge (which in and of itself ain't bad).
