sneak peak at Bro Deal Boost #1
Image
Image
the colour is transparent, the pictures really don't show it off
It would be done but I didn't get my pots with my shipment and haven't gotten a reply back about my email.

A little info about the Bro Deal Boost
Volume and Contour controls
True/Millennium Bypass
Powder Coated enclosure with hand painted decals [to come]
9v operation
Battery clip free!
$45

Why is it a Bro Deal? You'll get a killer sounding boost for hell of a price thats only available to all my bros here at shortscale. Costs for high quality components, powder coating, shipping supplies, drill and hardware upkeep and consumables is expensive and adds up. I sat down and estimates these costing me right at $35 including the aforementioned.

So there you have it! I'll get a demo up as soon as the first one is done and to the classifieds it'll go!

Need no. Want Yes :) I want a piece of history. I love that it's called the BroDeal Boost.

What does the contour control do?

put simply, it fiddles with the way the first transistor hits the second, not a gain control per say though

Hi Haze.

I need a switch to change between the chorus and flanger settings on my Ibanez CCL Dual Chorus, my tap tempo switch doesn't work - it changes while the switch is pressed down but it goes back when you release it. I guess it has the wrong kind of switch. Can you build me a switch in a small enclosure, i'll pay for it?

yeah I can do that, it'll just be a latching footswitch that amps use. 1590a sized? thats the same size that i used for rob's footswitch for his orange. Or I could go smaller and use the same little boxes that my starve breakout jobs are in.
Just let me know what you want and i'll letchuu know

As small as possible would be good, i'm short of pedalboard space, but whatever is easiest for you is also fine. I don't think the footswitch you made for Rob was too big so if it's better for you to make it that size i'm fine with it. I'm away from friday for 2 weeks so no rush, although it would be nice if it was here when I get back. Just let me know the price + shipping and i'll sort you out.

Colour really isn't important and if it saves money and hassle to have it plain then it's fine with me. I'll PM address details.

somehow i missed the picture

IN OTHER NEWS
I've just built a Great Destroyer, everything said about it is absolutely true. Its more of an instrument than another pedal, its VERY interactive. Ive just put it through all of my guitars and basses and its different with every instrument. Props to Aen for this one.
Yes, its epic.
No, I won't build you one.
Yes, buy one from Aen.

I'll try this one out at practice next and who knows, maybe it will kick my ECT off for fuzz tones. If it stays then I'll probably get a Dwarfcraft one :D

Here is the situation: I am very interested in the BroDeal Boost but I have one trepidation. I already have a MBM Saltbreaker/Saltbooster pedal and I don't want to take up pedalboard space with redudant pedals. Does the BDB sound different from those pedals?

What Muff pedals are you currently making? I was thinking of getting either a MBM IC muff or Rams head Muff, but it seems silly for me to pay the extra shipping costs and wait time since your only several hundred miles away.

If the Great Destroyer knocks the ECT off your pedalboard, I will gladly take it off your hands. I want to get the Dwarfcraft Internet and ECT down the road.

Its certainly different from mikes salted lpb1 and won't cover as much ground as mikes saltbreaker (ocd of sorts iirc?).

Haze, do boosts have any real benefit on a solid state? I figure it would not cause a solid-state clean channel to break up and sound slightly dirty correct?

I love my amps clean channel, but I like using the dirty channel to get a slightly broken up tube amp mimicking sound. Though I do not have a footswitch for it.
Would this pedal afford the switch of forcing my clean channel to sound dirty, or is that not a characteristic of SS amps.

Also what would this boost do to a already dirty toonez?

Thanks amigo.
