My Batwing.

Image

I feel it works simply because it doesn't get too close to the Fender shape, and because the size and proportions are quite different it comes out looking half-decent. I'm not a big fan of the smaller Batwing headstocks on the Cobra, for example. It just about works on the Nu-Sonic, but mainly because it smooths out the middle point to turn it into a hybrid of the Telecaster and Batwing shapes.

I wonder how much the Venus rounded off part matches the Coronado one. The Coronado headstock is nearer the larger Fender one than the Venus but it looks similar otherwise.

Most of my favourite 6 in a row designs are fender derivatives with interesting plays on proportions.

My all time favourite one is the Eko 500:

Panaramic:

Regent:

In the not fender inspired category, some of my favourites are:

Some of my favourite in the goofy category:

Panaramic was a sub brand of Magnatone owned by The Etsey Organ Co. and built in Long Island City NY from 1963 to 1968 and later, under the Audio Guild Company, in Van Nuys California. I think they went bust sometime in the mid 70's.
I have no idea who Regent was and what happened to them. I think they were English, though...
DiPinto is still around and kicking. Excellent customer service, too.

That Regent is the same as a Guyatone LG60 but with an upper horn. LOVE that headstock.

I used to own a PANaramic just like that one, the neck was too warped so I sold it. Mine was redburst though so not as pretty as that honey one.

I dig the BilT Relevator headstock. It's sort of a larger Starcaster-style headstock.

I found this when looking for shots of the Relevator headstock, and it's pretty awesome as well.

Poke fun if you will, but I really do love the TK-300 headstock. Hockey stick style.
