The 51 is near identical to the squier version except for the badge....

The f is only on the 72.

Hell yes.

For some reason it looks like it'd be really suited to being a baritone.

I'm sure he directed it at the color choice.

The colour choice.

It's right in line with everything being available in just black or sunburst.

When I made the colour chart I never totalled up the colours but it must be somewhere around 150. Of course there are a lot in there that are so close they could almost be considered repeats, but to look at Fender and Squier of the last five years you would think the total colours they've used in the past is closer to 10.

I'm a little surprised they used that color. I mean look at the $380 dollars classic vibe and looks at the $1,600 dollar AVRI. Both are made with CNC machines. The finish on the CV is top notch. Do a quick upgrade of pickups and you've got a guitar that can at least compete quality and aesthetically with the AVRI.

And Butter scotch blonde is probably one of the most popular colors for those classic tele players, so I think it's a good move if they're just trying to give the people what they want. Maybe if we're lucky they'll throw one odd ball color in the mix like sea foam green.

They did a run of CAR, Alpine White and Sea Foam Green on some Tele Deluxes for Guitar Center over the holidays. They looked great. Some color variety would be nice.

I'd like it if it was real butterscotch and not see through. I'd buy it, pick up a GFS mini humbucker and and guard, and get my keefe on no problem...

MMMM Project idea...

One of these..

BIGSBY
GFS mini retrotron
GFS black Pguard...

I hope the bass comes with a black pg, so it looks something like this:

this. if they just added some amber tint to the current CV tele it would be more like "real" butterscotch (which was never actually a color. the 50s teles have just yellowed over time).

I like the new color on the tele! The transparent white never really did anything for me. I would definitely consider one of these if I sell my WD tele. I'd get that, put in some GFS fatbody pups and a 6 saddle bridge and it would be awesome!
