It has been a while since I have posted a project here. I have been pretty busy working on a 1930s grand prix pedal car as of late, but I have managed to find time to work on a new guitar project. This project was not as involved as most of my others; is fairly tame, and only took a few weeks to complete.
This is my girlfriend's guitar -- she gave it to me to repair the input jack, which is all she thinks is being done. She has told me before that she dislikes the way it looks, so I decided to have a little fun with some inspiration from a Nazi aircraft's colour scheme. Her birthday is today, and I am going to surprise her with it.
It started life as a very normal black Epiphone SG (I forgot to take before photos, but who hasn't seen a black SG?) -- I have repainted it a flat-ish "chromium oxide green", and replaced the plastic pickguard with polished brass plates. The headstock is also covered in brass, and I painted a monogram on it that I designed. All of the screws and plastic parts were repainted dark grey. The strap is made of wool.
Hope you enjoy it.
