Telecaster owners: do me a favour?

Talk about all other types of guitars. Jazzmasters and basses go here!

Telecaster owners: do me a favour?

Post by benecol »

Well hello there. Would one of you lovely telecaster owning shortscalers do me a favour please? Could you measure the height of the string off the body of the guitar (not off the bridgeplate) as close to the bridge as possible please? So I guess at the edge of the bridgeplate. Trying to suss out if I can sneak a cut-down tele bridge onto the danomosritebitsacaster.

It's about 12mm (7/16" to 15/32") using my tape measure on my Aerodyne Tele.

WHAM!

Beat me to it.

I'll still provide to get some sort of mean average though.

Yeah, the Aerodyne isn't exactly typical in some ways... though I imagine that the bridge height is standard.
But, different setups, different measures.

Very odd. On my CVC it's 1 inch and 1/32 (give or take). Maybe my neck is higher off the body. My action is about 5/64".

Seriously? I just measured my Jazz Bass, and it was only ~1/2", 13mm from the body to the bottom of the E string. 1 1/32" seems like one hell of a gap for a Telecaster

Oh good :P I was trying to picture how your bridge was set up, 'cause it would have to be something more like a TOM or something than standard Tele setups.
