Epiphone?
I've got an epiphone Riviera that I bought back when they started making them again in the 90's and it's an excellent guitar. but the new (mic) ones are shite...

So its agreed then? Gibson are shit.
Just kidding. John in Master Charger was on about selling his LP Studio yesterday and i thought thank fuck for that. It sounds like a bag of shit, dull, horrible lifeless thing. I hate it when he brings it, it fucks up the whole karma of a rehearsal. His SG wipes the floor with it.
Anyway, he has decided he is keeping it now :x

I disagree. I've played more than a few SG specials and special fadeds and all but maybe a handful of them have had horrendous fret jobs, felt like crap, and the faded finishes just look really bad to me, and I don't like the way they sound with the stock pickups either. I've had one friend swap the pickups in them and his sounded decent, but by then he paid as much as I did for my used SG standard which is worlds better in my opinion. If I was in the market for a sub $800 SG I would get an Epiphone G400 and do a pickup swap. They feel great, and once you swap the pickups they sound great too.

The only faded that I've ever played and liked was one of the very first runs with the crescent moon inlays, and I'm pretty sure they had ebony fretboards back then. It felt great, but I also played it at a shop that takes the time to do a decent setup and fret work if they get a guitar that comes out of the box with razorblades sticking off the edge of the fretboard like Gibson tends to do these days.

There better be other colours coming too, or else Henry's ass is mine. And let me tell you, his ass is going to be really sore.

WHY THE HELL SATIN BLUE? I know, cool that there's other colours than just the regular sunburst/black/white/red. BUT WHY UGLYBLUE, I DO NOT WANT YOU.

I kinda like 'em...

But really don't know why, and if I think about it too hard I start to dislike them more and more. Maybe better colors will help?

Actually I just think they need to bring back the MM double cut body.

My initial reaction was "yeah, not too bad", but it's waning :P
