Dan (and later Mages) nailed this scaling thing first time round. Not sure why taylornutt's bodged fake moonlanding pictures keep getting cranked out: three points of reference (at least) are needed to define the scale. And the resolution makes no difference at all.

One plus of having a simple hard tail strat bridge in the Mustang is that you can easily throw it away and put on whatever bridge system you want with a minimum of fuss.

Every guitar I see with a coil tap, that seems a really neat feature.
But some of You have said that its not that good as it looks on paper.
(never had a chance to try it out myself)

And i kinda like the colors..

Im one of the peeps who enjoys tremolos,but I am afraid of humbuckrz.
And Im quite tall fellow, and it looks tiny.
Thinking of gettin that thang'.. maybe.
(The one Fran is selling is in the same price range,looks like)

I have a coil tap on my Schecter Hellcat VI, the main difference I find is in output more than tone; there is a slight difference in brightness between the bucker and the single tap, but it's quite small. Of course, that's on a bass with 250k pots, might be different with higher rated pots.

I tend to avoid trems, but I like the Fender floating trems (Jag/Jazz, Mustang)... putting a hard tail on a Mustang seems sacrilege

Humbuckers, I have a tentative relation with... but they're nothing to be afraid of

IN my experience (CP Jag HH) it pretty much sucks. It cuts your volume in half, for starters. And unless the Humbucker is insanely hot, the single coil sound is going to be pretty weak sauce.

i'm not convinced. i'll wait until i have both guitars in my hands before i can commit to saying either "it's smaller" or "it's not smaller". i mean, it looks smaller, but is it really smaller? how do we measure size anyway? it's only a perception. who's to say this whole world we inhabit isn't an illusion, or perhaps the entire universe is just a fret marker on an unbelievably huge mustang?

The Duo's hardtail looks FAR better (and I rarely remember the Duo exists for some reason)

The Mustang doesn't look like a Mustang anymore, having seen those proper comparison photos. It looks like some small bodied oddity. Like some old Cort or something. I probably would like it except that it's supposed to be a fucking Mustang and it isn't a fucking Mustang.

I was actually thinking of the Duo-Sonic II, rather than the proper Duo. I'm not so keen on the standard Duo bridge look, but they are a nice guitar.

I totally agree the body is smaller and is very different. I never said it wasn't different. I have lined up guitar photos before and never had any problems. Not sure what I am doing wrong that's making it not lineup properly. I am totally willing to concede the point and move on and I wasn't' trying to get in a pissing match about it. I still would like to see them side by side.
