I think I've changed my mind on my previous statement telecaster = maple neck
I can’t decide if I’m going for the red or the silver.
I'm leaning toward Red

I definitely think Teles should have maple necks, but the only one I own has a rosewood 'board and that's the Aerodyne. I think the custom works with rosewood too.
Basically, straight teles should have maple, but if the model is enough of a variation in other areas then rosewood can work.

I don't like those Teles at all. Think it's the colours.
I stand by my previous statement that both woods look good. Some perhaps better than others.

They should give me a job but I have them lads terrified. I'd fire the half of them, get rid of most of their lines, and introduce a line of guitars that people would actually want to find in pawn shops, namely Katanas.

these guitars would look several times better if they had mint/cream pickguard and pickup rings.

I will tell anyone looking to get a tele to play one of these.

They look, feel, and play amazing in person. I think they are much better than most new Fenders.

Id say black with maple neck, binding and the old style pickguard.. (the small one, how its called by the way?)
or just black, maple and binding.
Swap the neck pickup with signlelns coil.
or just take the red one.
(silver one looks strange)

i like maple on just about anything. less to do with looks, than just the fact i like the "slipperiness" of maple fretboards. this is why i dig the gibbies bacchus posted.

Maple feels and sounds better and looks and feels cleaner to me.
That said, some people will never like them and for them, I think ebony's a good choice, since it looks high class yet has bright tone.
Anyway the Blacktop pickups are really muddy in a bad way. I think a good pair of pickups can make them work.

HELL YES!
I'd kill for a good Fender Katana. And a bass one, too (don't think they made any). Also +1 on the firing of dumbasses.

I think all the Squier Classic Vibe teles are amazing, especially this one:
http://www.squierguitars.com/products/s ... 0303035521
The thinline and the custom are a close call, though I would say the custom is sexier for sure. My only knock on the thinline is the bleached neck, but I used to own the CV Duo Sonic so I could live with it.
Anyone got the CV Thinline? I thought of getting one for learning slide down the road.

The Thinline is the only one I haven't tried. I like me some maple on tele's too.
