That is really interesting about them being made in Japan. I thought they were American or MIM based on how expensive they were. I will wait for a used one for sure.othomas2 wrote:Just had the mustang, 51 & 72 arrive at the shop. They're lovely especially the necks... I had no idea they were gonna be Japanese.

That's my assessment too. And at $599, I'd still wait for a really good sale.serfx wrote:$799.99 USD is just about $200 more then i'm willing to pay

I love how the guy in the Premier Guitar video discusses all the different influences for the Fender '51 and how Squier 51 was just one of them. It was the only one. His exact words were "loosely inspired". They altered the pickguard near the humbucker slightly. At least they picked a good design to copy. When will they start cranking out the Fender Super-Sonics I wonder?

But the Fender's got Klusons. Completely different guitar.taylornutt wrote:I love how the guy in the Premier Guitar video discusses all the different influences for the Fender '51 and how Squier 51 was just one of them. Yeah, love the sound of my basswood instruments...honeyiscool wrote:Basswood sounds great, though.
I mean, you'll lose strap screws and you'll get a thousand dings, but it sounds fine.
Unfortunately, the adjustment piece on my strap's been dinging the body of my bass:
I haven't had the strings off in a while
