Yeah I'm so glad I don't have an SX Jaguar Bass now.

I wonder if this means they'll drop the price on the Bronco. I can't imagine they'll sell very well at $149 when there are so many Jag basses for under $200.

Holy crap! I thought these were a great deal when I thought they were $199!!! At $169 it's going to be hard not to grab one of these! And if this means they'll drop the price on the bronco, I would definitely consider one of those for a project bass.

169. That is an amazing price. It even has a matching headstock! That is usually reserved for expensive stuff hahaha

I've never heard of Squier releasing unfinished necks in recent models.

I was at the music store today, and I saw the Bronco bass, the weird Pbass with Giant Hmbucker, and the Standards all with bone white unfinished necks.

They're finished in thin satin poly.
I have a Bronco neck with a couple of scratches on it and it looks different from the finished area.

Daaaang. At $169 I'll finish the neck myself. The fact that it's cheaper than a bronco bass is a bit surprising. I thought it'd be in line with the current VM Jag basses.
Is the Bronco Bass neck finished?

I guess it's cool that there's a short-scale version of these now, but I still think Squier's version of Jaguar bass looks weird. There's nothing "Jaguar" about them. Where's all the damn chrome? I put even more chrome on mine.

Well, now that they are short scale, it makes them Jaguar in one way.
Yeah, the Bronco Neck is definitely finished.

I can't believe I have to write this sentence.... People, there is a difference between unfinished necks and satin necks. No fender or squier has ever been released with an unfinished neck.

i originally asked in response to your question about should you buy one.
you should definitely play one first, and see if you like it. we're not going to be able to tell you if you should or shouldn't.

Fender has promised to send me one for a review; they already put the order in at the distribution center, so I should be one of the first to get one when they arrive - ETA about three to four weeks. I'll keep everyone posted.
